Networks allow us to quantify connections between individuals and organizations to find the patterns that connect us. Networks represent the relationships that create the capacity for collective action with the ability to address gaps where formal institutions face challenges posed by wicked problems. A visualization of a network can provide intuitive insights of the interactions between actors and allows for the identification of key and marginalized players, and therefore can facilitate more equitable stakeholder involvement.

Using feedback from Oklahoma leaders, S3OK researchers created a map of the networks of collaborative relationships of OLAN member organizations.

Nodes are sized according to closeness centrality, a way of algorithmically detecting nodes that are able to spread information very efficiently through a network. Nodes with a high closeness score have the shortest distances to all other nodes.
